Obstetric hemorrhage is one of the leading cause of maternal mortality in Georgia and is highly preventable. GaPQC implemented the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Obstetric Hemorrhage Bundle in April 2018. The initiatives prepares hospitals to recognize and respond to obstetric hemorrhage by implementing critical clinical practices, including measuring blood loss as quantitatively as possible. Currently, 45 of the state’s birthing hospitals are participating.
*The Obstetric Hemorrhage initiative moved to sustainability phase in September 2021.
