Thirteen Georgia hospitals, representing 38% of Georgia's annual live births, participated in the VON
iNICQ Choosing Antibiotics Wisely initiative with the goal of rapid-cycle adoption of critical new guidelines for antibiotic use during the perinatal period.
Through participation in this initiative, twelve Georgia hospitals successfully increased the percentage of newborns with appropriately documented critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) screening.
The overall goal was to decrease length of stay among newborns diagnosed with NAS in participating GaPQC hospitals from 16.3 to 14.7 by September 30, 2021 (10% reduction).
